Every fabric in this collection was chosen on purpose, not because it was easy, but because it was right. We work with natural fibers and time-honored techniques that protect the environment, sustain traditional craft, and keep textiles in circulation rather than in landfills. Our garments are made to order, so nothing is made to be wasted. This is what it looks like when the fashion industry chooses to be a better steward. Swahlee is proof.

The Fabrics

Handloom

It takes more hands, more skill, and far more care to weave fabric this way, and that's exactly why we love it. Every yard supports an old craft and the livelihoods behind it. Each piece carries the mark of the person who made it, a quiet signature no machine could replicate.

Deadstock

The fashion industry leaves behind far more fabric than it uses. We think that fabric deserves a second chance. We source deadstock rolls of high-quality cotton from India's surplus markets, beautiful material rescued rather than discarded.

Linen

Linen asks for almost nothing: no pesticides, minimal fertilizer, barely any irrigation. It comes from the flax plant, one of the oldest cultivated fibers in the world, and it's biodegradable from start to finish, so when a linen piece finally reaches the end of its life, it returns to the earth instead of sitting in it. It's naturally breathable and temperature-regulating, which is why it's stayed a warm-weather staple for thousands of years. And it only gets better with time: linen softens with every wash and wear, so the piece you buy today becomes even more comfortable the more you live in it.

Upcycled Cotton Saris

Across India, the sari is everyday and iconic all at once. We source previously worn saris from local markets and give them a second life, so their softness and one-of-a-kind pattern can be worn again, by someone new. Every piece made from these saris is singular. No two will ever be the same, which means neither will you.
